A Shocking Tragedy
Khayne Kheian Naelgas Castro, a young boy from the Philippines, lost his mother under tragic circumstances. She died giving birth to his younger brother, Cyril Khayzer Castro. What should have been a moment of joy turned into an unspeakable ordeal for the family. But the hardest part was Khayne’s inability to comprehend this loss.

At the age of five, the concept of death is abstract. He saw his mother lying peacefully in a coffin and thought she was asleep. Day after day, he waited for her to wake up, hoping she would hold him in her arms again.

Innocence in the Face of the Irreversible

The scene that shocked social media shows Khayne leaning his head against the coffin, trying to embrace the woman he could no longer reach with his small arms. He even moved chairs around with her to sleep next to her, hoping to meet her in his dreams. A gesture of pure love, as beautiful as it was moving.

His grandmother was speechless, unable to explain the tragedy to him, and shared these poignant moments on Facebook. “Why can’t Mommy sleep with me anymore?” he asked her.

A wave of global support

Pictures of the boy quickly circulated on social media, sparking a wave of emotion and solidarity. Many internet users were touched by his story and sent messages of support to the family. Some even offered financial assistance to help the two young children.

Khayne’s grandmother expressed her deep gratitude to everyone who had offered them comfort. “God bless everyone and please continue to pray for Cyril, who has just been born. We hope he grows up healthy,” she said.
